Frequently Asked Questions

Our Cakeballs Aren't Like Every Other Bite-Sized Dessert You've Had!

What is a cakeball?

A small cake bite with the perfect combination of cake and frosting and coated in chocolate. We call it portion controlled.

You can mix and match cake and icing flavors as well as the chocolate coatings. Cakeballs are topped with sprinkles or decorated. The variations are unlimited and addictive; they are nicely packaged for gifts. All gift boxes come with our tag and wrapped with a ribbon. Perfect for party favors, showers, weddings, new-baby, get-well and corporate gifts. All ages love our rich, moist mini desserts.

What is the difference between a cakeball and cake pops?

Cakeballs are in a paper candy cup. Cake pops are generally larger in size and mounted on a stick or straw to make them look like a lollie.

The K’s Confectionery is located in the Pekin/Manito area in Illinois and offer pick up and local delivery (delivery fees may apply).

What are your hours of operation?

We do not have a storefront but you can order through our website, phone, text or email and we’ll get back to you ASAP for pick-up and delivery options.

Do you accept credit card payments?

We accept cash, check or Venmo: @Kathy-Ksconfectionery

Do you have any other flavors?

Our most popular flavors are offered and we seasonally add some new selections.

What size are the cakeballs?

Our cake balls are about 1 inch round, a little smaller than the size of a golf ball. We have found this to be the perfect size to balance the ratio of cake to icing to chocolate coating. When serving at a party, we recommend 2-3 per person.

Are cakeballs fully cooked?

Yes. The cake in our cakeballs is fully baked. The cake is then blended with icing, which creates a doughy consistency. They are hand rolled and dipped. This is what makes the cakeballs super moist and delicious!

How long to cakeballs last?

Cake balls will last for 5-7 days when stored in an airtight container at room temperature but avoid direct sunlight. If you need to store them for longer than that, you can transfer them to the refrigerator where they will keep for up to 10 days. We recommend storing them with a piece of wax paper between each layer so the chocolate doesn’t stick together.

Can you freeze cakeballs?

Yes, you can freeze cakeballs for up to 6 months. The chocolate coating can form condensation as it defrosts, so they won’t look as good if you’re going to be serving them. Some prefer to eat them frozen!

How fast can I get my cakeballs?

If you need your cakeballs by a specific date, please pre-order 7-10 days before that date!   For larger orders, we request at least two-weeks notice.  We’re committed to producing the freshest cakeballs possible!  However, we want you to have your delicious cake balls as soon as possible, so often orders can be ready within a couple of days!

Do you ship your cakeballs?

We take great pride in our cakeballs. We can ship but recommend pickup.  They are fragile but we take meticulous care to package and ship your product so they do not get smashed. Heat and humidity can also present problems when shipping. While we never expect damage to occur, we cannot be held responsible or offer refunds for any damage that occurs once the order has been shipped.

Our shipping rate depends on the weight of the package, the shipping address and the shipping method.

Do you do “Gender Reveal” cakeballs?

Yes, we offer strawberry or cherry and blueberry.

Do you do cakeballs for weddings?

Yes! We love weddings! We currently offer a very cute 2-piece gift box.  It makes a great table favor for your special day. Some other wedding ideas are to serve them on a platter at the cake table. Brides have also passed them on trays with milk or coffee as a late night snack as the reception is winding down. These options are available by delivery in the Peoria area (delivery charge may apply). Please contact us to place an order.
